All about Emsella treatment

What is Emsella?

Emsella is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for incontinence caused by a weakened pelvic floor. The Emsella chair procedure has several upsides:

  • Non-invasive & non-surgical
  • No down time
  • Remain fully clothed
  • The equivalent of 11,200 pelvic floor exercises in one session
  • Pain free

How does it work?

The Emsella Chair uses advanced electromagnetic energy (aka high-intensity focussed electromagnetic (HIFEM) waves)) to engage all the muscles of the pelvis and produce thousands of contractions simultaneously. The action is similar to pelvic floor exercises, but with far more intensity. This energy is transmitted to the vaginal and pelvic floor muscles through your clothes, inducing thousands of pelvic floor contractions.

What does an Emsella treatment look like?

After an initial assessment by our nursing team, a typical Emsella treatment lasts about 30mins. Whilst being seated in the Emsella chair, you may experience a tingling sensation in the pelvic floor muscles, but you should experience no discomfort whatsoever.

Why should I get Emsella treatments?

Pelvic floor health is important for both men and women, with one in five Australians experiencing incontinence in some form throughout their life. The aim of Emsella treatment is to restore neuromuscular strength and control in the pelvic region, particularly pelvic floor muscles and the bladder. The sessions improve the pelvic floor muscles dramatically decreasing urinary and urge incontinence. It also has the added benefit of improved sexual function due to the tightening of the vaginal walls and improving the laxity that women can have post-birth

The results are both instantaneous and ongoing. With as few as six treatment cycles in three weeks, patients strongly agree their incidence of urinary incontinence was improved by 95%.
